Abstract: Defect CFTs provide an exciting new playground to study RG flows and their endpoints. After reviewing some basics of defect CFTs, I will present a detailed study of supersymmetric monodromy defects (also known as magnetic defects) in four and three dimensional systems. We will measure the response of the system to the insertion of the magnetic solenoid, and in the four dimensional case will calculate new central charges which appear in the trace anomaly. We close by commenting on new possible monotonic quantities in these new mixed dimensional systems.
